About

Nuclear Power Group is a Canadian based company, operating a small distance from Toronto in the province of Ontario. NPG recruits contractors for short-term or long-term contracts. Hiring individuals on a contract basis allows other companies to maintain proper staff levels and retain the talent available today, while reducing employee-related costs. We intend to service the niche market specific to the nuclear power industry. Currently there are multiple large scale mega projects in various stages within Canada. The complexity of these mega projects require a highly skilled and experienced workforce.  Our intention is to work closely with the station owners and their service companies to recruit and place key staff in the areas of project and construction management. There are three nuclear power plants in close proximity to our location. There are two companies that operate these facilities, Ontario Power Generation and Bruce Power. These plants are located in Pickering, Darlington and Bruce County.

The Darlington Nuclear Generating Station is working to ensure nuclear power is part of the province’s future with approved plans for a $12.8-billion refurbishment of four nuclear reactors at the Darlington generating station.

Bruce Power will spend $13 billion to refurbish six of the eight nuclear reactors at its generating station near Kincardine, ON. This mega project will commence in 2020, however companies are staffing up now to prepare project estimates and initial project planning.

Ontario’s only other nuclear generating station, in Pickering, is also scheduled to be decommissioned in 2020, but the province has approved OPG’s plan to continue operation until 2024, protecting 4,500 jobs. OPG will be in talks with the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission and the Ontario Energy Board to obtain the necessary approvals to extend operations.
